The "before"

It's not pretty people! (Of course, it did look nice at one point, but when I took these pictures I had already started the tearing down, so the room is a mess.) This room is the "master" in our small house. It's the smallest bedroom, about 10x10. When we moved in, our bedroom furniture would not fit in here. We had a long dresser, a chest of drawers, and one nightstand. Plus the bed had a headboard and footboard. This bedroom set was black. Which is not my favorite anyway, so I was ready for something different.

Anyway, when we moved in, we decided to take the larger bedroom for ourselves, and then make this room the office. Jeremy used it for all of his stuff. And the bathroom was also Jeremy's. I used the hall bath. This arrangement worked very nicely until I started having to share my bathroom with two toddlers. When we didn't sell the house very quickly, we decided to stay in here and make it work for us. So thus began our adventure of sorting, and throwing away, and donating, and getting rid of. We had a lot of stuff crammed into this small house, with plans on moving into a bigger place. But I'm glad we did what we did. Most of the stuff was stuff we'd never need.

Your house sounds a lot like ours! We moved in thinking we would move again in 2 years, and then the market dropped so bad we would barely break even to move! So, like you, we are in the process of making our small house work for our family! I'm sure we will be here a while longer. I'm loving everything you're doing! Looks great!

All that hard work is paying off- it all looks great, Jennifer! Love the colors and the designs you have picked. Very calm looking in the master.
