Gideon's Room

Here's some "after" pictures from our remodel! (Finally!) I'm going to post room by room, and we'll see how far I get today. This is Gideon's new room. This room used to be Eowyn's and Gideon's. It was the simplest room to do, and also the last. (Sort of.) It used to be yellow and a lighter green.
We kept the same nursery bedding and just based the colors off of that. We drastically cut the amount of toys in our house so that the kids would only have enough that they could clean up. And it's working. No more toys are kept in the living room, only in their two bedrooms. They've each got a basket (or trunk) and then a few toys that aren't kept in the basket. It's been wonderful!

This is Gideon's coat/hat hanger. I had an Uppercase living expression to put in his room, and I thought it would be cute underneath his jackets, so he'll get a little love everytime he pulls his jacket on.

For Gideon's window treatment, I wanted a roman shade, and something the was lined for the energy efficiency. Those are expensive. So, I bought a black-out panel at Walmart for $17 and (after reading lots of tutorials, and doing lots of thinking and figuring) I made it into a roman shade. It works and everything!

All of this furniture we had, so not much new here. But after months of not using a changing table because it was packed up, Gideon and I were both so excited to use it again. I think he had forgotten about it.

This is an upclose shoot of the ceiling. We scraped all the popcorn off our ceilings and painted them all this ash mist color. It looks white, but the grey undertones really make the ceilings look higher. And it gives the whole house a nice cool tone. Love it!

Gideon's room still has some very blank walls. I have pictures and frames, but I need to get mats and then, of course, hang them on the wall. But that's it in his room!
