I've always wanted a Tiffany lamp. I just love them. So I figured I could finally have two for our bedroom to bring in a bit of color/pop. I couldn't find any on craigslist, so I had to get these two which were a bit smaller than I would have liked, but I put some books under them and they are beautiful.

The (Smallest) Master
Our bedroom had the biggest redo out of the bedrooms. I knew for the new furniture I wanted two nightstands, somewhat slender, and a chest of drawers. And just a headboard. I wanted the furniture to be dark, but the headboard I wanted to have some kind of natural look. I found this banana leaf, West Elm, headboard on craigslist for $100. I was so excited!!!
The bedding I found on Lands End. It was the whole set, sheets, duvet, shams, on clearance. I think it was $160. Oh, and I had to buy some bedrails. I found those on craigslist for $25.

I also wanted slim nightstands. I knew if there was room in between the wall and the nightstands it would make the room look larger. I wanted them to have one drawer and a shelf underneath. I found these on craigslist, after a lot of searching, for $20 for the PAIR. I had to refinish them, but they were perfect!

We took the chairrail down (that I had Jeremy put up three years earlier, talk about complaining!). I wanted the walls to look as tall as possible. Of course, the new smooth ceiling helps with that. I also hung our curtains high and wide, in order to make the window look bigger. The mirror was my mom's. Mom didn't have anywhere to hang it in her house, so I stole it. And the basket for our laundry is from Ikea.
Then we also needed some drawers. We were moving into the same closet, and losing all the drawers from our old furniture (which I sold on craigslist), so we needed some drawers. I wanted a chest and I really wanted it to have legs to stand on, so that there would be space underneath to make the room seem bigger. (The more space there is, the bigger the room.) I found this one on craigslist again, and if you'll remember, it came with a nightstand. The dresser was in beautiful shape, but the nightstand was pretty scratched up. And I didn't need another nightstand anyway. But I took them, tucking it away until I realized I wanted a nightstand for Eowyn's room. Anyway, the pair was $50. I refinished the dresser with the nightstands so they would all match. It's about 50 years old I think, and it's a Bassett, so it's a nice piece.

So pretty! The dresser alone would have been a few hundred dollars. I like to redo furniture also. But yours are amazing, they look brand new! How did you do them? Did you have to sand them down and start over?
